Alkylation of Benzene with Linear Olefins

Detergent alkylate is commercially produced by the alkylation of benzene with linear olefins derived from paraffin dehydrogenation. The reaction is carried out in the presence of a catalyst that promotes high selectivity toward linear alkylbenzene.
